On the 27th, the Uiwang Branch of the Spinal Cord Injury Association and the Bugok-dong Community Security Council successfully completed a campaign to improve awareness of disabilities at the Bugok Dokkaebi Market in Bugok-dong, Uiwang-si. This campaign was planned to raise awareness of disabilities and spread a culture of understanding and consideration for the disabled in the local community.
The campaign provided explanations and publicity for the eight major disability sensitivity etiquettes, and eco-bags were given to citizens who participated in the campaign. Thanks to the spinal cord injury disabled people and council members going out on the streets to promote the campaign to citizens, it drew great interest and positive responses from merchants and residents.
Kim Hyeon-seong, the president of the Uiwang branch of the Spinal Cord Injury Association, said, “This campaign was even more meaningful because we were able to hold a meaningful event in cooperation with related organizations in the region,” and added, “I hope that many residents will understand disabilities and that through this, our society will become a more inclusive space.”
Park Jun-hee, the head of Bugok-dong, said, “We will continue to provide support at the neighborhood level to improve awareness of disabilities and work to ensure that this campaign has a positive impact on more residents.”
