Songsan 3-dong Administrative Welfare Center of Uijeongbu City Songsan District (Regional Director Lee Young-jae) is conducting a comprehensive cleanup of illegal floating advertisements around schools for one month in September to mark the start of the second semester. This cleanup activity targets the school routes and child protection zones (school zones) of 41 elementary, middle, and high schools in the Singok-Songsan District, and aims to create a safe and pleasant educational environment for students.

The main targets of the maintenance are illegal banners installed around school routes, especially advertisements installed around crosswalks that obstruct the view of pedestrians and drivers. In addition, obscene, decadent, and provocative leaflets and posters, political party banners installed in school zones, etc. are also the main targets of this maintenance activity. These illegal advertisements not only hinder students’ safe commute to school, but can also be a factor in damaging the pleasant local environment, so intensive management is necessary.

Lee Won-jin, head of the permit support division, said, “We ask for the voluntary participation of business owners to create an environment where children can go to school with peace of mind,” and added, “We will do our best to provide a safe school environment for students and a pleasant walking environment for local residents through continuous cleanup of illegal advertisements.”

This maintenance activity will be carried out together with residents in the Songsan area, and Uijeongbu City plans to continue various maintenance activities to improve the educational and living environment of the local community.
