Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Chan-dae) announced that it will host the 2026 emergency-patient response lecture and talk show, titled ‘On-Site Roadmap for Children’s Emergency Care,’ at the Yeongjong-gu Public Health Center on the 11th, aiming to enhance citizens’ ability to respond to infant and child emergencies and to establish a proper culture of emergency-room use.

The program will be led directly by pediatric specialists from Inha University Hospital, who will conduct both the lecture and the talk show. The initiative is intended to help citizens and emergency medical workers communicate with one another, deepen understanding of emergency situations, and close gaps in emergency-medicine education within the region.

The program will open with the session ‘When should we take our child to the emergency room?,’ followed by emergency-care education tailored to specific infant and child symptoms and situations, the talk show ‘A Roadmap That Opens the Path to Saving Our Child’s Life,’ and finally education on the proper use of emergency medical services.

In particular, because the lecture and talk show are structured around questions submitted in advance when registering to attend, the event is expected to genuinely address the matters citizens are most curious about regarding infant and child emergency care and emergency-room use. It carries significance in that it offers a standard for judgment to guardians who often feel at a loss over whether to visit the emergency room.

Infants and children experience rapid changes in symptoms and find it difficult to describe their own condition, so a guardian’s initial judgment and response often determine the child’s health. Through this education, Incheon City plans to help guardians and citizens respond correctly and without panic in emergencies, while spreading a mature culture of using appropriate emergency medical services when truly needed. At the same time, the city intends to strengthen communication between citizens and the emergency medical field, thereby raising trust in the community’s emergency medical safety net.

Kim Min-jeong, Director-General of the city’s Health and Welfare Bureau, said, ‘In infant and child emergencies, above all, swift initial response and correct judgment are directly linked to the child’s health,’ adding, ‘I hope this education will serve as a valuable opportunity for citizens to obtain accurate emergency-care information and to clearly resolve their questions about using the emergency room.’
