It was announced on the 29th that the “2026 Disaster Response Safe Korea Training” was conducted, combining on-site training and discussion-based training simultaneously under a scenario of a complex disaster situation caused by an explosion of unknown cause, in order to strengthen response capabilities. A total of about 300 people from 22 related organizations, including Incheon Transit Corporation, Gyeyang-gu Office, and Airport Railroad Co., Ltd., took part in the training. The training was carried out based on a scenario involving complex crisis situations such as a train derailment and fire caused by an explosion of unknown cause, and a crowd-crush disaster.

To prepare as if for a real situation, on-site training at Gyeyang Station and discussion-based training for the command staff at the corporation’s headquarters were conducted at the same time. In the on-site training, response procedures tailored to actual situations were carried out, including ▲emergency evacuation, ▲life-saving rescue, and ▲fire suppression. The command staff discussion training focused on checking practical disaster-response capabilities, such as situation-assessment meetings based on on-site conditions and the operation of the local accident response headquarters.
Choi Jeong-gyu, President of Incheon Transit Corporation, said, “It is important to build up response capabilities so that we can respond swiftly whenever a disaster occurs,” adding, “We will continue to create an Incheon urban railway that citizens can use with peace of mind through practical, on-site-centered training.”
