The event began with a competition involving flying and filming at key points of Cheongna Lake Park, followed by training on producing short-form promotional content using the filmed footage, and then a work workshop for sharing cases of drone use in administrative work. In the competition held in the morning, participating teams carried out 8 types of advanced flight missions, including vertical ascent, horizontal movement, top-down, backward, forward, semicircle, circle, and spiral. A panel of outside expert judges comprehensively evaluated technique execution, flight and video stability, and camera composition, selecting and awarding a total of 5 outstanding teams: 1 grand prize team, 2 excellence teams, and 2 encouragement teams.
In the afternoon, a specialist instructor was invited to conduct hands-on training on cut editing and inserting subtitles and effects to turn the filmed footage into short-form promotional content. In the workshop that followed, participants discussed cooperation tasks between the city and the municipalities and districts and ways to effectively incorporate drones across administrative services as a whole. Lee Won-ju, Director General of the City’s Urban Planning Bureau, said, “This competition was a meaningful occasion for civil servants to learn the precise piloting skills and various filming techniques needed for their work, and to build the capability to immediately apply them to administrative promotion and field work,” adding, “We will continue to lead smart administration that fuses drones with spatial information, and based on close cooperation with the municipalities and districts, drive innovation in public services that citizens can genuinely feel.”
Meanwhile, Incheon City plans to continue expanding education on new technologies such as drones and field-oriented practical training, further enhancing the efficiency of public services across various administrative fields including cadastral resurveying and urban planning.
