“Gonggam Stay,” a healing program for office workers run by the Samik Culture Foundation, will hold a hula dance experience session on Thursday, July 23.
[코리안투데이] Workplace Healing Program ‘Gonggam Stay’ to Hold Hula Dance Experience July 23 |
This installment centers on the theme “hula dance experience,” built around the idea that “everyone, regardless of age or gender, dances hula to bring out the ocean within.” The poster features a smiling instructor in traditional Hawaiian attire against a yellow background adorned with tropical flowers, conveying an intent to offer an exotic sense of escape for office workers worn down by the summer heat.
The session will be led by Hayati, head of the hula studio “Huladang.” Hula, a dance originating in native Hawaiian culture, is known to relax both body and mind beyond simply learning movements. Designed as an experiential program accessible even to those without prior dance experience, it emphasizes that anyone — regardless of age or gender — can take part.
The event runs from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. for check-in with refreshments, followed by the main hula experience from 6:30 to 7:20 p.m. — roughly 50 minutes, enough time for participants to actually learn basic moves and dance together.
The venue is Samik Art Hall, and admission includes both the experience fee and rental of hula attire, so participants don’t need to bring their own costumes. Programs like this reflect the Samik Culture Foundation’s ongoing effort to bridge arts and culture with everyday life for office workers.
