The poster depicts two figures facing each other at sunset on a beach, framed through a window with curtains drawn back, under the line “the sincerity of that day, a story not yet over.” The warm red and orange glow enveloping the two figures is left deliberately ambiguous — is this a farewell or a reunion? — a device that leaves audiences curious about how the relationship at the story’s center will resolve.

The show’s description reads, in part: “the backs of two students looking at the sunset capture a peaceful and emotional moment… the images remind us of friendship, growth, and precious moments in life,” suggesting a story that deals with youthful relationships and the emotional residue they leave behind. The title itself, “The Truth Is,” hints at a sincerity that isn’t visible on the surface — a feeling revealed only belatedly.

The show is directed by Jae Woo Kim. Unlike large commercial productions, this small-scale, emotion-forward romantic comedy fits within a growing trend of “sentimental theater” centered in Daehangno in recent years. Marketing aimed at specific generational sensibilities and promotion driven by social media are hallmarks of this style, which tends to build audiences through word of mouth.

Producer Company Woo prominently features its logo at the top of the poster to reinforce brand identity, and shares information and inquiries via its official Instagram account, @company_woo. Tickets can be booked through Interpark (NOL ticket).
