The Seoul Youth Sexual Culture Center will provide various free sex education programs to raise awareness of the importance of sex education through public education and to increase accessibility to it in commemoration of the ‘1st Sexual Education Day of 2024’ on September 4. The event will be held at eight Youth Sexual Culture Centers in the Seoul area throughout the month of September.

This event aims to spread a safe and equal sexual culture and strengthen the institutional position of sexual education. In the Seoul area, the Youth Sexual Culture Center is operated in a total of 8 places including Gwangjin, Dongjak, Yangcheon-gu (Dream), Seongbuk, Songpa, Yeongdeungpo-gu (Aha!), Eunpyeong, and Dobong-gu (Changdong), and provides experiential sexual education using various audiovisual materials and on-site sexual education.

The Youth Sexual Culture Center is a public institution established in accordance with Article 47 of the Act on the Protection of Children and Youth from Sexual Abuse to strengthen the sexual health capacity of children and youth. This free sex education focuses on increasing youth’s accessibility to sex education and emphasizing the necessity of sex education as public education.

Meanwhile, the slogan of this event is ‘Sex education for all, sex education that connects each other’, which contains a message to resolve the imbalance in sexual health rights caused by the private education of sex education and to provide equal sex education opportunities to all youth.
