Incheon's Yeongjong District (District Mayor Son Hwa-jeong) announced that it will run the 'Strong Joints, Healthy Stretch' program for about two months, from July 13 to September 21, to promote joint health and prevent chronic diseases among residents of the Yongyu area.

The program will be held every Monday and Wednesday during lunch hour, from noon to 1 p.m., and is open to residents of the Yongyu area. The district explained that the program was designed to help improve residents' health and prevent chronic diseases.
The venue will change depending on the period. In July, the program will be held at the Yongyu Community Service Center, and starting in August, once the relocation to the Yongyu Multi-purpose Community Center is complete, the program will continue at the new venue.
Participating residents will receive tailored health management services, including stretching and physical activities designed to improve joint flexibility and prevent chronic diseases, under the careful guidance of professional instructors.

In particular, reflecting the characteristics of the Yongyu area, which has a high proportion of residents engaged in agriculture and fishing and a large elderly population, the program was designed around joint-protection exercises and muscle-strengthening exercises that can be easily practiced in daily life. The district expects this will help residents adopt healthy lifestyle habits and improve their physical function.
Jeong Han-sook, director of the Yeongjong District Public Health Center, said, "I hope the 'Strong Joints, Healthy Stretch' program will serve as an opportunity for local residents to practice regular physical activity and build healthy lifestyle habits." She added, "We will continue to operate and expand various programs in cooperation with community institutions such as community service centers to support residents' healthy later years."
