The Ganghwa County Council of the National Unification Advisory Council (Chairman Lee Yoon-seop) held its ‘2026 Workshop to Strengthen Advisory Members’ Capabilities’ for advisory members on the 16th at the Nanjeong Peace Education Center in Gyodong-myeon. The gathering was an opportunity to understand the changing environment surrounding unification and to jointly explore the roles and practical measures advisory members can take to broaden a shared vision of unification within the local community.

The Ganghwa County Council of the National Unification Advisory Council held its ‘2026 Workshop to Strengthen Advisory Members’ Capabilities’ on the 16th at the Nanjeong Peace Education Center in Gyodong-myeon. The workshop was arranged to deepen understanding of the rapidly changing unification environment and to share the roles and practical measures advisory members can undertake to broaden a shared vision of unification within the community.
At the event, Pastor Kim Eui-jung took the podium as the guest speaker and delivered a special lecture under the theme ‘What Shall We Do for Peace?’ Drawing on a variety of examples, Pastor Kim addressed the formation of a national consensus for peaceful unification amid changing times, the role of community leaders, and the sense of mission and practical measures of advisory members. The advisory members in attendance responded enthusiastically to the content of the lecture.
The workshop to strengthen advisory members’ capabilities is significant in that it is not merely an educational event but a channel that brings the issue of unification closer to residents’ daily lives. Building on the understanding gained from the workshop, the advisory members will take on the role of continuing conversations about unification with their neighbors in their own everyday settings.
Chairman Lee Yoon-seop said, ‘I hope this workshop has been a meaningful time that enhances the expertise and capabilities of our advisory members and expands a shared vision of peaceful unification,’ adding, ‘We will continue to pursue various peaceful unification activities together with the local community going forward.’

The Ganghwa County Council plans to strengthen the foundation for peaceful unification in the local community through a range of activities, including unification-consensus projects with residents, youth unification education, and peaceful unification lectures.
