The Incheon Metropolitan Government will reopen the fall stage of its roving traditional performance ‘Eolssu’ on Sept. 6 at the outdoor stage of Yongheunggung Park in Ganghwa-gun. A cultural-welfare program that delivers traditional arts such as pansori and samulnori into residents’ everyday spaces, the performances are free and open to all, with no reservation needed.

The Incheon Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Chan-dae) announced that it will resume the fall schedule of the ‘2026 Roving Traditional Performance Eolssu’ on Sept. 6 at the outdoor stage of Yongheunggung Park in Ganghwa-gun.
‘Eolssu’ is one of Incheon’s flagship cultural-welfare performances, bringing a rich array of traditional arts — pansori, samulnori and fusion gugak among them — to neighborhoods across the city. Designed so that even residents who find it hard to visit a concert hall can encounter traditional arts close to home, the program runs a total of eight times this year, from May through October. To avoid the peak-heat season, it is divided into three performances in the first half and five in the second.
The first stage of the fall season takes place at 4 p.m. on Sept. 6 at the Yongheunggung Park outdoor stage in Ganghwa-gun. Titled ‘Living the Life of a Gwangdae (Performer),’ this stage features ‘Namchang-dong Tightrope Walking,’ the essence of traditional performing arts, alongside ‘Ganghwa Yongduraejil-sori,’ an Incheon intangible cultural heritage. Through the dure culture that lies at the root of pungmul and traditional theater, the performance revives the spirit of cooperation and sharing found in village communities, aiming to convey to residents the communal character of traditional play culture beyond mere spectating.
Beginning in Ganghwa, the fall tour continues across Incheon. On Sept. 13, ‘Urban Pungnyu,’ featuring the Isang Band and the Gyeonggi folk-song group Boul, will be held at the outdoor stage of Byeolbit Plaza in Yeongjong-gu, and on Sept. 20, a ‘Rock Concert’ by Project Rock and the Incheon Gugak Choir K-Pan will take place at the outdoor performance venue of Wanjeong Station in Geomdan-gu.
Then, on Oct. 11, ‘Nolda-ga SHOW,’ presented by Nam Sang-il and Ensemble Deuryu, will take the stage at Galmaegi Hall on Wolmido in Jemulpo-gu. On Oct. 18, this year’s schedule concludes with ‘Sound Companion,’ bringing together Go Young-yeol (with guest Kim Jun-su) and the Incheon intangible cultural heritage ‘Incheon Offshore Coastal Songs and Boat Songs,’ at the outdoor stage of Solchan Park in Yeonsu-gu.
All performances are free with no advance reservation, and any resident interested in traditional arts may watch freely on-site.
‘This fall’s Eolssu performances offer residents a chance to feel the beauty and vitality of our traditional arts close to their daily lives, and to naturally encounter the value of Incheon’s precious intangible heritage,’ said Jang Eun-mi, director of Incheon’s Cultural Heritage Division. ‘We will continue to prepare rewarding stages so that every resident can enjoy culture and carry on the value of tradition together.’
