Arts Center Incheon will present the 62nd Incheon Citizens’ Day & IFEZ 23rd Anniversary Commemorative Concert on Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in its Concert Hall. Incheon residents can attend with all seats priced at just 1,000 won, offering a rare chance to enjoy a high-caliber performance without financial burden.

Arts Center Incheon announced that it will hold a concert celebrating Incheon Citizens’ Day and the 23rd anniversary of the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) on Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in its Concert Hall.
The performance was organized in conjunction with the 1,000-Won Happiness Culture Ticket program. Any Incheon resident can obtain a ticket for 1,000 won for all seats, while residents from other regions can attend for 20,000 won. Lowering the threshold to cultural enjoyment so that any citizen can access a high-quality performance is the central aim of this commemorative concert.
The stage will feature the Incheon New Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Jung Han-gyeol. The concert opens with the overture to Mozart’s opera 《The Marriage of Figaro》. It continues with ‘Tonight’, a signature number from the musical 《West Side Story》, performed by tenor Isaiah and mezzo-soprano Shin Hyun-sun, followed by ‘A Fine Day in October’, which captures the mood of autumn, sung by soprano Yang Ji and baritone Ryu Seung-wan.
In addition, trumpeter Alex Volkov will present Arban’s 《Variations on the Carnival of Venice》, and traditional Korean musician Yang Eun-byeol will heighten the festive atmosphere with ‘Gasibeosi Sarang’ and ‘Bae Ttiweora’.
The highlight of the concert is the fourth movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, ‘Choral’. Alongside four vocal soloists (soprano Yang Ji, mezzo-soprano Shin Hyun-sun, tenor Isaiah and baritone Ryu Seung-wan), a joint choir comprising the Incheon Men’s Choir, the Incheon Women’s Choir, the Scala Choir, the Yeonsu-gu Women’s Choir and the Namdong-gu Women’s Choir will take the stage to deliver a resonance of harmony.
Lee Kwan-hyung, director of Arts Center Incheon, said, ‘To commemorate Incheon Citizens’ Day and the founding of IFEZ, we have prepared a special stage that can enrich the daily lives of our citizens.’ He added, ‘I hope every Incheon resident will create meaningful autumn memories with beloved family and neighbors through a top-tier performance they can enjoy for just 1,000 won.’
