The city of Incheon is preparing a cultural stage where young people worn out by studies and college entrance exams can showcase their individual talents and abilities. The Incheon Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Chan-dae) announced that it will hold the 21st Incheon Youth Culture Festival on the 19th at Namdong Gymnasium.

Now in its 21st year, this festival has adopted the slogan ‘WANNABE: Dream It, Be It.’ The programs have been designed so that young people can channel positive energy through a variety of cultural and hands-on activities and take charge of shaping their own futures.

The opening ceremony that launches the event will feature a performance in which key guests and young participants take part together. There will also be a segment in which the youth share their messages of dreams and hopes with the audience.

At the venue, a youth-tailored experience space called the Youth Action Village will be in operation. Four themed zones will welcome young people, each with its own specialized programs: a Play Zone that stimulates creativity and sensitivity, a Care Zone that supports health, safety and personal counseling, a Dream Zone for envisioning dreams and future blueprints, and a Safe Zone for learning disaster-safety responses and sports. By bringing play, counseling, career exploration and safety education together in one place, the program goes beyond mere entertainment and places its emphasis on fostering the genuine growth of young people.

On the main stage performance floor, ten youth-club alliance teams selected through competition will show off the skills they have honed in dance, cheerleading and more. This will be followed by recreation activities and DJ performances, while congratulatory stages by singer-songwriter ‘Ivory’ and multinational girl group ‘Odd Youth’ will fill the stage.

The 21st Incheon Youth Culture Festival is open to all young people and citizens free of charge. Detailed schedules and program information can be found on the Incheon city website, as well as on the official website and social media channels of the Incheon Metropolitan Youth Activity Promotion Center.

Mayor Park Chan-dae said, ‘I hope this festival becomes a meaningful time in which our young people can step away from their daily routines, freely express their dreams and talents, and grow a little more through new challenges,’ adding, ‘We will continue to generously expand a wide range of support and opportunities for our youth.’
