‘2026 EDC KOREA’, the world’s largest electronic dance music (EDM) festival, will be held from Oct. 3 to 4 at the Inspire Entertainment Resort on Yeongjong Island in Incheon. With an estimated 30,000 foreign visitors alone expected to attend, attention is turning to whether the event will energize the region’s tourism industry as a whole.

The Incheon Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Chan-dae) announced that ‘2026 EDC KOREA’ will take place over two days, from Oct. 3 to 4, at the Inspire Entertainment Resort on Yeongjong Island.
‘EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival)’ is a global EDM festival brand known for its spectacular large-scale stage production and immersive, experience-driven content. This year’s event is hosted and organized by Insomniac and One Pulse Group Korea, with support from the city of Incheon and the Incheon Tourism Organization.
A total of around 50,000 visitors are expected this year, including 20,000 domestic attendees and 30,000 from overseas. Given the particularly high share of foreign visitors among the overall crowd, the festival is anticipated to go beyond a simple music event and spread spending into related industries such as local lodging, shopping, and food and beverage. For residents and local businesses, it amounts to a real opportunity to capture foreign tourism demand during the autumn peak season.
The venue will feature a total of five stages, including the main stage ‘Kinetic Field’ as well as ‘Circuit Ground’, ‘Stereo Bloom’, ‘Bionic Jungle’, and ‘Boom Box’. The lineup brings together some 80 of the top EDM artists from Korea and abroad, including Tiesto and DJ Snake, who will perform over the two days.
Incheon views the event as a chance to showcase to the world its MICE infrastructure and the accessibility centered on Incheon International Airport. By proving its capacity to host not only business-oriented MICE events but also large-scale cultural events, the city aims to further strengthen its competitiveness as an international cultural and tourism hub.
Kim Young-shin, director general of the Incheon International Cooperation Bureau, said, ‘The hosting of 2026 EDC KOREA in Incheon is more than a meaningful event combining global cultural content with local infrastructure — it will serve as a springboard for Incheon to leap forward as a global city that embraces large-scale cultural events beyond business MICE.’
