Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Chan-dae) announced that it will participate in the 2026 Regional Economy Innovation Expo, to be held over two days starting Sept. 17 at the Speed Skating Rink of the Gangneung Olympic Park in Gangwon State.
The expo is co-hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Korea Local Public Enterprise Evaluation Institute, and the Hankook Ilbo, with 46 organizations taking part, including local governments, public institutions, and small business owners from across the country. Participating organizations will share their exemplary administrative cases and innovative policies and jointly explore ways to achieve shared growth.
Incheon will set up a dedicated promotional booth at the venue under the slogan ‘Incheon, a City of Shared Growth Where It Is Good to Work Alongside Businesses.’ Rather than simply listing administrative achievements, the booth is designed as a space that offers a multidimensional introduction to core policies that citizens can actually use in the course of job searching and employment.
First, Incheon will spotlight its achievement of winning two awards in the disclosure system category of the 2026 National Local Government Jobs Grand Awards. It will then introduce the Incheon Jobs Platform, an integrated employment service that links everything from job information searches to online applications and submissions in real time. The platform gathers scattered job information in one place, serving as a gateway that eases the burden of job searching for citizens.
The city will also present its Incheon-style youth policies, which support young people’s needs across their life stages—from employment and work to entrepreneurship and housing. It will share the results of building a shared-growth ecosystem by discovering and supporting outstanding local companies through initiatives such as the Root Companies That Are Good to Work For, the Outstanding Job-Creating Companies, and the Beautiful Factory Awards.
In particular, the city will run on-site quiz and survey events to publicize the reorganization of Incheon’s administrative system, newly launched on July 1. The aim is to spark visitors’ interest and boost participation.
Incheon plans to use the expo as an opportunity to benchmark the outstanding innovation cases of other local governments and public institutions, while also drawing on it as a stepping stone to advance its own differentiated regional economy and jobs policies to the next level.
Kim Jun-seong, director-general of the city’s Economic Affairs Bureau, said, ‘Incheon is laying the foundation for a regional economy in which businesses and citizens can grow together, and it is continuously pursuing jobs policies that citizens can experience firsthand.’ He added, ‘Through this expo, we will widely promote Incheon’s outstanding policies and achievements across the nation, and we will strive to add fresh vitality to the regional economy through diverse policy exchanges.’
